See some of the latest event activity in this brief round up. Thank you to all the families, faculty and staff, and students who help coordinate and participate in these activities that enrich the Live Oak experience.
As part of Week of Service, each grade took part in a service activity this week or in an upcoming week. For their service work, kindergartners helped clean up the area around Jackson Park and posted some helpful signs to inform the community about the importance of keeping our neighborhood clean.
Thank you to the third grade students and families for putting together a wonderful show of gratitude at Thursday’s Staff Appreciation Day. A special feature of Staff Appreciation Day was an Appreciation Mosaic created by the Class of 2031 that captured some of their favorite memories and experiences from their time at Live Oak.
Eighth graders engaged in a service learning experience last week that was tied to Week of Service where different groups visited either the SF-Marin Food Bank to take part in preparing and sorting donations or Sequoia Living to spend time building community with senior residents of the facility.
We welcomed three guest speakers to campus this week who spoke to various classes about the changemaking work they are doing on behalf of their respective organizations. The guests included Bronwyn Peterson from Sequoia Living, Tina Bhatnagar P’28, who works with Edu Girls, and Edward Hatter from Potrero Hill Neighborhood House, or “The Nabe”.
