"We are a family who had children in Spanish Immersion preschool and were sure we were public Spanish Immersion school bound. We toured a number of public and private schools including Live Oak and fell so deeply in love that we abandoned Spanish Immersion (which was a big deal for us). It's hard to choose what we love the most about Live Oak, but if we were forced to choose one it would be the incredible community (parents, guardians, teachers, administration and staff). This group of generous and kind people have poured an immense amount of love into our family during a difficult time for us. We'll never stop feeling overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people that make Live Oak the fantastic place it is."

"As a full time working single parent I have appreciated the community here at Live Oak! We take full advantage of the many offerings the school has made available to us and happy to speak to anyone about our time here!"
"We have a first Grader and can happily answer any questions about kinder and first grade experiences. Our kiddo is a part of two afterschool Roots and Branches classes (soccer and taekwondo) and the Lower School Student of Color Affinity Grove. We try to be an active part of the community because we, as fellow educators, really believe in the special vision of Live Oak with their hands-on learning approach and the way they instill the sense of community to the students as equally important as academics."

The Higuchi Family

Student: Kalin '30
Ask About: Academics, Art, Family of Color, LGBTQ+, Lower School, Music, Volunteering
"Our daughter Kali is in second grade and has been at Live Oak since kindergarten. One thing that we feel passionately about is that the teachers (and the co-teacher model) truly do an amazing job getting to know each student as well as their needs. As a LGBTQ+ / family of color we understand that it can be hard to find diversity in the SF independent schools. Live Oak offered our family the best possible option to address our diversity goals with both faculty, student, and parent community."

"Live Oak has created a space for my children to thrive with a particular emphasis on how to be a good citizen of the world, as well as overall social-emotional learning. In addition, the Live Oak community has been very welcoming and it has been very easy for us to find so many other families we can relate to."

"We have a second and eighth grader. We all love Live Oak and the sense of community that the entire school fosters. We are particularly fond of the play dates that we’ve had outside of school and building connections with families through sports, the plays, and other extracurricular activities."
